Solid Waste Management And Resource Mobilization (SWM)

Followings are the future plan and programme of SWMRMC:

Conduct a meaningful review of the organizational structure, it's legal setup, and future responsibilities in consonance with the changed context.
To search for an appropriate alternative and long-term landfill site within Kathmandu Valley for management of waste of the Valley.
To mobilize waste as resources
Promotion of private sector participation in solid waste management sector
Provide technical assistance to all the municipalities of the country to develop plan and programme for appropriate solid waste management system in their area
Conduct public awareness programme towards minimization of waste
Conduct programme for mobilization of peoples participation and communities participation in waste management endeavors
Maintain coordination and cooperation between various governmental and non-governmental organizations in waste management sector
Review the waste management system of municipalities and advise HMGN on appropriate waste management system.
